Reminder: EOI's now open for whole of school physical literacy TransformUs Program - valued up to $3000.
TransformUs Available now
We are offering Move Well Eat Well schools the opportunity to participate in the TransformUs pilot project in Tasmania free to your school(s).
TransformUs provides schools and teachers with online training and resources to help students move more and sit less in the classroom. TransformUs involves providing a supportive physical activity environment and incorporating movement into everyday class lessons – the delivery of the lesson changes, not the content. This program has been used in Victorian schools for more than 12 years to support students to be more active, and so far has reached more than 904 teachers and 376 schools in Victoria.Once you have registered, gained permission from your Principal and been accepted into the trial, your school will receive a support package worth up to $3,000 which can be used in program implementation. For example, funds can be used to purchase physical activity equipment for classrooms, standing desks and/or playground line markings. During this pilot we will be working with partners at the Menzies Institute for Medical Research to gather information on your thoughts about the program. We know your time is valuable and will be keeping this to a minimum. You can choose not to participate in the research, and it will not affect your place in the trail.

The Northern Tasmanian Softball Association is interested in holding a Tee Ball Gala Day in late September, towards the end of Term 3.
Schools who are interested in fielding a team/s are invited to submit an expression of interest.
Teams would consist of between 10 to 12 players of both boys and girls aged 10-12 yrs old. We would play an altered set of rules to encourage participation.
At this stage we are looking for rough team numbers so we can work out further details.
If you are interested in entering a team, please email launcestontball21@gmail.com with the following details:
- Preferred day?
- Preferred time frame?
- Preference for a competive or non-competitve event?
Expressions of interest close 5pm on 7 July 2022.
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to James.
