Ride Nation Schools is a learn-to-ride Bike Education Program delivered in schools Australia-wide. It is a fun and interactive learning experience that teaches young people to develop their riding skills and confidence – supporting kids in their independence and giving parents peace of mind.
Ride Nation Schools has an emphasis on fun activities that develop safe riding practices. Alongside a strong physical literacy application, each program builds outcomes of advanced bike control, road safety and active transport. While progressing through the three levels, the aim is to ensure participants will build an important lifestyle skill for the future. The Ride Nation Schools program has been innovatively linked to the national PDHPE curriculum which can extend the learnings from the sessions to the classroom.
We have three levels of bike education programs in schools:
Skills (Playground): Recommended for grades 2-3, this 4–6-week program focuses on developing essential bike control skills such as braking, balancing and riding. The skills learnt in this program will allow students to ride around in traffic free environments (school yard, park and around the block).
Confidence (Pathways): Recommended for grades 3-5. Once grasping the essential bike control skills, participants are ready to develop their riding confidence. This 4-6-week program focuses on riding and situational awareness, providing students with the skills and competences to enable them to start riding on footpaths and shared pathway in low traffic environments. This program is ideal to start having students riding to and from school!
Explore (Places): Recommended for grades 5-6. Participating in life-long physical activity is essential to every child. Ride Nation - Explore looks at utilising all the skills learnt through previous programs and develop them in different cycling situations to explore the local area by developing road safety and situational awareness. The program consists of four weeks of practical skill development and learning and ends with two local community rides for children to understand what is in their community.
The program is delivered by AusCycling accredited instructors. Each level includes six hours of content and is generally delivered as 6 x one hour sessions (this may be adjusted to suit the needs of the schools).
The sessions can be held in a school setting before, during or after school. Details about Ride Nation Schools are available in the information booklet below. To enquire about a program please email us at schools@ridenation.com.au.
Your school may be eligible for Sporting Schools Funding to cover program delivery costs.

Connectivity Traumatic Brain Injury Australia are a not-for-profit working to raise awareness and provide education on traumatic brain injury, including concussion.
We've recently released a FREE Online Concussion Short Course to help Australians further understand concussion. We believe this course is a fantastic resource for your school to share with teachers, school nurses, parents and anyone else who may be a first responder to a concussion incident.
If you would like to share this within your school and community network we have provided a Dropbox folder with downloadable content, imagery and suggested wording you can use. This also includes a flyer you may wish to place on student or staff meeting boards.
We also have a wonderful story from a student, who while in Year 12 suffered a concussion whilst playing hockey. His story details how having a concussion impacted on his schooling and ability to study and may resonate well within your community. You can view and share it from here.
If you would like any further information please don’t hesitate to email connect@connectivity.org.au

The Australian Golf Foundation is committed to developing sporting and leadership pathways for women and girls in golf. The AGF support development programs for girls and women looking to pursue golf as a career, be it as a player, coach, administrator or in management.
The women’s sporting and education programs focus on themes relevant to young females today – leadership, resilience, goal setting, independence, gender equality, inclusion and empowerment.
Adhering to Golf Australia’s strategic plan for women and girls through the Women and Girls Engagement Strategy, the scholarship program is designed to foster a deep love of golf by creating a strong bond between girls (aged 10-16) and their golf club/facility.
Encouraging and supporting junior program participants to continue their golfing journey beyond their initial introductory steps and to obtain a handicap, this program will in turn help to reduce drop-out rates of teenage girls in golf.
Golf Australia – Tasmania is now calling for expressions of interest for the 2023 intake of scholarship holders.
