Website: https://www.movewelleatwell.tas.gov.au/

Move Well Eat Well (MWEW) are excited to offer a FREE professional development opportunity on outdoor learning for 25 member schools in Term 3, 2022!

Join Kara Spence from Nature. Be In It and Lisa Ford from The Resilience Co to learn more about how you can take your teaching outdoors and make the most of the natural environment for learning. This is an excellent opportunity to explore how you can use effective nature-based learning in your school.

This opportunity is available to 25 Move Well Eat Well Member schools statewide. Schools will need to nominate one teaching staff member to attend. The sessions will be held online via Microsoft Teams on the dates outlined below. Sessions will be recorded and made available for those who missed a session or for sharing with other teaching staff at their school for 4 weeks following each session.

Session 1 (1.5 hours): Wednesday 17 August, 3.30pm - 5pm

'Introduction to outdoor learning, the benefits and barriers'

  • Practical considerations, logistics and resources

Session 2 (1.5 hours): Wednesday 31 August, 3.30pm - 5pm

'Developing an outdoor learning mindset'

  • Nature Pedagogy.
  • Embracing problems, a curiosity approach.
  • Curriculum linking and planning discussion.
  • Risk and safety

Session 3 (45mins): Wednesday 14 September, 3.30pm - 4.15pm

Question and answer session.

  • Sharing of experiences - problems and successes.

Selection will be made on a first-in, first-served basis. Successful recipients will be notified by email and their school name may be published on Facebook. Numbers are limited to 25 participants (one per school), so please register EARLY.

It is a condition of entry that recipients understand that any deidentified evaluation data they provide during the sessions will be made available to MWEW for promotional purposes. If for some reason recipients are unable to utilise this incentive, MWEW reserve the right to reallocate the place to another applicant.

Enter here.

Please contact the MWEW Team if you need further information about this exciting opportunity.
